Festival of Australasian Writing, 12-13 May 2010

WordStorm 2010, recently rebranded as ‘The Festival of Australasian Writing’,  highlight the regional nature of this festival in the capital of Australia’s Northern Territory, Darwin. Closer to Singapore than to Melbourne, WordStorm features writers from Asia and the Pacific, as well as Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australian authors, including those from the Northern Territory.

More than 75 writers will gather for the festival this year. Thegroup includes, for the first time, writers from Sri Lanka, Malaysia and the Pacific region. However, these writers’ journeys will probably be easier than those of the Barkly contingent who will be driving around 1000 kilometres to bring us their hot, desert words.
