Jon Cook

Jon CookJon Cook is Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and is the Director of the Centre for Creative and Performing Arts at the University of East Anglia, UK. He holds the Chair of Literature and is also a member of the Arts Council of England and Symposium Director of Writing Worlds, an initiative of the Writers’ Centre Norwich, bringing together leading international writers.  His work brings together insights from cultural studies. aesthetics and literary criticism and contributes to wide-ranging debates about the nature of cultural modernity. All these interests feed into his teaching to both undergraduate and graduate students. He has supervised a large number of PhD students on subjects in modern literature, literature and philosophy and creative and critical writing. He has taught at universities in the United States, Europe and India and he is on the international advisory board of the Amsterdam School of Cultural Analysis. Jon is also a member of the Arts and Humanities Research Council Peer Review College and a Literature advisor to the British Council.
