Devi Arumugam

Devi Arumugam received her PhD in English Literary Studies from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 2016. She earned her Bachelor degree in English Literature (Hons) and Masters in Language and Linguistics (MESL) from University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia in 1997 and 2004 respectively. Her doctoral research is a comparative study on three contemporary British women writers using Virginia Woolf’s feminist ideology as expounded in her two works, A Room of One’s Own and Three Guineas. She worked as a high school teacher from 1997 to 2015. She also served the National Examination Syndicate of Malaysia as an Examiner and Team Leader for marking SPM 1119 English Language Papers for 18 years from 1997 to 2015.Currently, she is working as an English language lecturer for Cambridge English Main Suite and as the Chief Exam coordinator for Cambridge English Examinations at Blue Wave Educational Resources, a group of Cambridge English Language Centres around Banting, Selangor, Malaysia. She is also a volunteer and social worker in several NGOs’ Educational Development Board for underprivileged students. A fluent speaker of English, Malay and Tamil languages, Devi has a collection of short stories, poems and a novel in progress to be published soon.
