Osamah Sami

Osamah Sami is an award-winning Australian actor, writer, comedian and poet, born in war-torn Iran to Iraqi parents. His critically acclaimed memoir "Good Muslim Boy" was the Winner of the NSW Premier’s Literary Award and Highly Commended at the Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards. Osamah also wrote and starred in "Ali’s Wedding", Australia’s first Muslim rom-com, which had its world premiere at the Adelaide Film Festival. His screenplay was the Winner of the prestigious AWGIE Award for Best Original Feature Film. In 2016, his work in Melbourne Theatre Company’s "I Call My Brothers" earned him a Green Room Award nomination for Best Lead Actor. Osamah is also a failed cricketer and struggling Muslim.
